Established in 1926 alongside the introduction of the science stream at Union Christian College, Aluva, the Department of Chemistry has a rich legacy of academic excellence and pioneering research. Under the visionary leadership of its founder, Prof. T. R. Anantharaman, and later Dr. A. M. Chacko, the department has steadily evolved, launching the B.Sc. Chemistry program in 1953 and the M.Sc. program in 1982.
