About the Seminar:
The Department of Chemistry was initiated in 1926. Prof. T. R. Anantharaman was the founder Professor and Head of the Department (1926 – 1962). The chemistry department started functioning in the Kacherimaliga which was used for conducting the lectures and practical classes. The B.Sc course in Chemistry was started in 1953 and the department moved to the present building in 1969 under the able leadership of Dr. A. M. Chacko. The PG course was started in 1982. Owing to the untiring efforts of the eminent faculty, the research activities gradually increased, and the department attained formidable reputation in the national scene as one of the finest schools of chemistry for graduation.
Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM, formerly known as Technopark TBI) is the nodal agency of Government of Kerala for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in Kerala. The primary objectives of KSUM was to undertake the planning, establishment, and management of Technology Business Incubators/Accelerators in Kerala so as to promote technology based entrepreneurship activities and create the infrastructure and environment required for promoting high technology based business activities.
KSUM – IEDC collaborates with Department of Chemistry, U. C. College, Aluva with an objective to strengthen the entrepreneurship development activities of students, promoting knowledge driven campus partnerships to promote entrepreneurship. We at U. C. College believe in “turning science into business” by exploring such inspiring events like a one day seminar comprising of knowledge sharing by eminent personalities and useful interactive session with our multitalented student community who holds a treasure of ideas and opportunities in building up a self sufficient INDIA.
